Eventful Last Two Weeks

Wed Nov 4, 2009, 6:52 PM
Hello everyone, I hope all is well for those who read this journal. I've been MIA since last we- well for like two months honestly but that aside, It hasn't been that long since I last updated but I will again because of some things I've had happen, some good, some not so good.

To begin with I got a scare with my grandfather the last week of October. He'd went in for back surgery, as mentioned in my previous journal, and came out alright. Not a day or so later though, he was taken to ICU because the doctors thought he'd had a heart attack. Come to find out he has blockage in his arteries and there is nothing they can do for him. This is what I got called up and told. I was an absolute wreck, being very close to both my grandparents. Then, I was told that he could've had this condition for several years, and that it wasn't a death sentence for him. I felt a bit relieved, now however when my grandma or father calls me I always fear the worse, and its stressful to say the least. I'm three hours away from my grandpa, and I'm afraid he is going to go without me being able to see him one last time. But on a brighter note he is undergoing physical therapy for his surgery and had been doing ok from what I've heard.

Also this Monday I went a listened to a Holocaust survivor speak. It was really a once in a lifetime thing. He was 13 when the bombs fell on Poland and went through almost every horror WWII presented and still survived. He lost his entire family, was sent here to live, THEN was drafted into the next war. He was 17 when he was finally liberated from the Nazi's. Sweetest most adorable old man ever 0_0! He even gave me his card in case I had questions because I like to write and told him I'd like to do a story about WWII one day ^_^.

Now, to speak of art, for this IS an art type journal, got some things on my list, oh yeah that's right! First though I'd like to say I'm thinking of changing my minor from Studio Art, its a really helpful class, but immensely stressful and time consuming. Aside from that I don't enjoy it. It bores me :P not that I can't use the help! Just if I have to draw one more friggin box I'm gonna stab someones eyes out! *deep breath*. I'll probably hang on to my current major of Ag. Science then get a minor is Psychology and Animal Science, I just still haven't found my niche and what makes me truly happy. I'm pretty torn between my love of animals, and my love of artistic things like drawing, writing, and painting. I get angry sometimes because it seems like I never have time and when I do I don't know what to do with it. I'm constantly thinking, "I could be drawing or writing...well no there is that Algebra homework I have to do", but all in all everything feels forced these days. I know its just because I'm busy with school and the "real world" but I can't even find inspiration in things anymore. I'm so drained in my mind its like I everything has lost its excitement to me, and I deeply miss that jazzed feeling I used to get when I'd get a story idea.

Anywho, art...

I got a gift drawing done but I now must paint/color it but my fear of screwing it up has so far kept me from doing so :P.

I also got part of a commission done! Huzzah!

Got some personal traditional media art I'm working on with Cole called Conflict of Morals. It will be a good practice for light usage for me ^_^

and Finally got two digital things I'm going to work on ASAP, one for :iconredcoatcat: and her lovely comic series, the other the completed piece of Billow my alder kitten moth character.

How about eggs!
Well what does that have to do with Jesus?
Alright we'll hide em...
